Acting Coach - Part-time

Orange County Acting Academy (OCAA) is a dynamic learning space dedicated to empowering individuals of all ages through the performing arts. Our academy provides comprehensive acting classes, workshops, and programs led by seasoned industry professionals. We focus on film and television acting and strive to serve our students and their families with a high level of integrity and kindness.

**Job Overview:**

As an Acting Coach at OCAA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of our classes when regular coaches are unavailable. You will step in to lead classes, engage with students, and maintain the high standards of instruction set by OCAA.

All coaches start as subs. If permanent classes are desired, they will be offered after demonstrating excellent performance, timeliness, a great attitude, and a willingness to be a part of the OCAA team.

**Responsibilities:**

1. Prepare for and conduct acting classes following OCAA's teaching guidelines.

2. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students.

3. 1:1 Coaching as requested by students and/or their families

4. Ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment for all participants.

5. Collaborate with OCAA staff to understand class schedules and requirements.

6. Come to shifts on time (which means be prepared and prior to class start time - NOT running in at the last second, 5 minutes late, etc.)

7. Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and OCAA management.

8. Uphold OCAA's commitment to fostering creativity, confidence, and a love for the performing arts.

**Requirements:**

IMDb credits of Co-star or equivalent and up
Previous experience in acting instruction or coaching.
Knowledge of acting techniques, improvisation, and character development.

4. Ability to adapt quickly and step into ongoing classes seamlessly.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Passion for working with individuals of all ages and skill levels.

7. Must be willing to work with all ages of children age 5 and up.

8. A Child Performer Services Permit is REQUIRED - we can facilitate this process for you, but you will be responsible for the cost of the Livescan and permit. OCAA will pay for subsequent renewals.

9. Excellent attitude, flexibility, and high level of integrity.

**Schedule:**

This position is on-call, and schedule may vary. Substitute coaches will be contacted in advance based on their availability and the academy's needs. Based on performance and client feedback, substitutes may be offered more permanent classes. There is a potential for more hours and benefits if desired.
